What Energizes You?
Finding what energizes you can help you to bring balance to your life by ensuring that you make that one thing a priority. We all have to do things that do not meet that definition. I am not energized by doing the laundry or grocery shopping or scrubbing toilets, but that doesn’t mean that I can stop doing them. It means that I need to mix in some of the things that do bring me energy and help me recharge so that I won’t burn out doing the things that take from me.

Now in its 7th year, EPB’s ArtSpark Goes to School is a program for high school art students in which students are given an opportunity to create original designs for EPB utility boxes using the prompt: What Energizes You?
ArtSparks offers students the real world experience of designing for public art.
Students will be given a basic template to understand the general dimensions of a box, but it is not necessary to design exactly to a specific box’s specs.
Teachers will choose their top five designs. The designs will be placed into a presentation that will not include any identifying information about the school or students, allowing for a blind judging process. The art will be judged by a panel of community partners, including River City Company and ArtsBuild.
Art will be due by Winter Break (December 5th) and students and teachers notified of winners by the end of February with a celebration event TBD the first or second week of May.
The winning students may receive feedback from the community judges and may be asked to edit their work, much like a real-world paid public artist would experience.
For more information, please see EPB’s website and last year’s media coverage.

Think about these questions
WHAT ENERGIZES YOU? What you are dreaming about, thinking about and desiring to put into action is a great indicator of what you’re passionate about. Don’t overthink it.
ARE YOU READY? Let’s ask a few discovery questions…
What do you love to create?
What results move you?
What products or services excite you?
What are your gifts and talents within you?
What do you already know about what energizes you?
What don’t you know about what energizes you?
