About

Hello, my name is Maureen Clark. I was born and raised in LaCrosse, Wisconsin.  I moved to Nevada in 1988 to teach for Clark County School District and relocated to Chattanooga, Tennessee to work for the City of Chattanooga as their new IT Technical Trainer in 2016. The GIG City will be an exciting place to explore, but I still enjoy everything that has to do with my home state; Packers, brats, cheese curds, and four seasons.

Education & Experience:

Before I retiring from Clark County School District in 2016, I was the instructor for graphics design and animation courses in the Video Game Technology and Web Design programs of study at the Southwest Career and Technical Academy. I have been teaching some form of art, computer graphics, animation and web design for 28 years, kindergarten to 12th grade.

I received my bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota (Minneapolis Campus) in Art Education. My master’s degree is from Northern Arizona University. In 2006, I earned my National Board Certified Instructor endorsement in Career and Technical Educations with an emphasis in Graphic Communications.  Recently, I earned my ACE (Adobe Certified Expert) certificate in Illustrator CC and I am an Adobe Education Trainer (AET).

Many of my past students have been SkillsUSA state champions and competed at the National Championships in Kansas City in Advertising Design, 3D Animation, Quiz Bowl, Promotional Bulletin Board, Chapter Display and Community Service.  Students have been recognized in various local/national publications, conferences and competitions, along with having their work displayed internationally at SIGGRAPH Vancouver.

So, what do I do for fun?

I enjoyed riding my road bike around the Vegas Valley. I completed my first century ride (104 miles) in October 2010. The toughest ride I have ever done? The Hell’s Gate Hundred in Death Valley. Mountain biking in the mountains of Utah and around Las Vegas has been amazing. I am looking forward to exploring roads and hills on my bikes in the Chattanooga area!
